Little Loom Sampler 2 day class | May 5 & 6, 2023
Time beginning: 9 AM Friday, May 5
Time ending: 4:00 PM Saturday May 6
Try out two of the most versatile small looms – the inkle loom and the rigid heddle loom. These two distinctly different techniques of weaving will be an introduction to simple weaving, but both looms can be used to create complex patterns and intricate designs as well.
We will create two projects that can be combined to make a small shoulder bag. On Friday we will make a plain weave strap on the inkle loom, learning color selection, reading the graph, warping and weaving the weft. Other topics covered will be choosing a loom, appropriate weaving material and additional resources.
Saturday we will warp and weave on the rigid heddle loom. We will use Schacht cricket rigid looms for weaving the main bag. Color selection, planning your design, warping and weaving will all be part of the class.
