About Our Program

The Fiber Flock: Educational Herd Program creates a unique “farm to fiber” experience. Nome Eweniversity’s Fiber Flock will serve our mission through educational and sustainable agriculture and artist opportunities. Guests will learn about where fiber comes from, how each animal is treated, the difference of each fiber and the process it takes. The Fiber Flock is available for educational tours, classes and retreats creating a full farm to fiber experience.

 

 

Nome Eweniversity brings people together who share a belief that creating is powerful, and creating with others can be life-changing. Knowing where the fiber comes from and the process that it goes through before it gets into the hands of creators is a very important part of the creative journey.

What’s Next

Phase Two

This barn will house our animal education center.

All the educational programing regarding the educational flock will take place in this barn, including animal care clinics, fiber festivals, fiber education and all the other animal educational programming the Ewe provides. It is located steps outside the back door of the Nome Schoolhouse. The animals will not reside in this barn, they will be brought in for educational programming but will live in the flock barn in the pasture adjacent to the school.

Our goal is to finish Phase 2 by summer 2024

We are currently working on grants for phase 2.
