Participants will learn how to use Acid Fast dyes with protein (animal ) fibers. This class may be taken in conjunction with Cellulose fibers or as a stand alone class. The participants will learn how to use acid fast dyes on wool yarns and then wool carded roving or combed top for felting or spinning. If the participant is a wool rug hooker, teaching can be adapted to wool yardage. Several methods of dyeing will be taught including low immersion, microwave, hand painted, and dyeing for solid/semi-solid effects in a vat. Participants will all dye yarn and then may dye more yarn or roving depending on interest.,
