Inkle Loom Weaving: Join us for an exciting inkle loom weaving class at the historic Nome Schoolhouse. In this hands-on workshop, you will have the opportunity to try out inkle loom weaving and to create beautiful and functional woven items. Using the versatile inkle loom, you will learn to weave a variety of items such as bookmarks, key fobs, or longer straps that can be used as belts or shoulder bag straps. Through the process of creating a plain weave strap, you will explore the fundamentals of color selection, reading weaving graphs, warping the loom, and weaving the weft. During the class, we will discuss and explore different types of looms, helping you choose the right one for your weaving projects. We will also delve into the selection of appropriate weaving materials, ensuring you have a solid understanding of what works best for different purposes. In addition, we will provide you with a wealth of additional resources to further develop your skills and pursue your weaving journey.
